Up-close and Personal

While there are plenty of 100mm Macro lenses available, this is the first that offers a 2x magnification factor – turning your typical macro photography into stunning, larger-than-life compositions that can turn your background into an alien landscape. This apochromatic lens (that’s what that APO means) cuts down on chromatic aberration not just around the in-focus areas, but all the way through to the edges – leaving your subject isolated without any color fringing (i.e. less time cleaning things up in Lightroom).

If you’re not into shooting bugs, dioramas, or anything that’s tiny turned huge the Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2x Macro APO is also designed to work as a capable portrait lens thanks to its 12 element lens construction. The 12 elements and circular aperture makes for creamy bokeh in both macro and infinity distances.

Pricing & Availability

Currently you pre-order the Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2X Macro APO directly from Venus Optics or one of their authorized dealers. The lens is expected to retail at $449.
