Today mark the opening of the 2019 New York International Auto Show, held at the Jacob Javis Center in New York City. Located on 34th street and 11th avenue, the who’s who of the auto industry will be there showing off their current models and incoming new. We here at G Style took a early look yesterday and scoped out what might be interesting to see.
Now full transparency, there wasn’t a lot this year that brought us the “wowww” factor, as for many brands it was more of the same. New year new model, add a feature or two new and that was about it. There where however a few brands that now have new models to the line up and we couldn’t wait to take a look. First among was Ford!

I really do love me a Ford vehicle, and I really wanted to take a look at their new Ford Ranger. I think of the Ford Ranger as the little brother of the highly popular F-150 pick up truck, but coming in a little smaller and at a more approachable price point. The base 2019 Ford Ranger starts off at $24,300, however at the show the only models we seen on display where various Lariat models which start higher at $32,210. Thought this was the main model they had on display, it was good to see it up close and personal. I will say that when I seen it in pictures, I kind of thought they would be smaller. This isn’t a bad thing, and am quite pleased with its size. So this is a decent sized pick up truck and you don’t get feelings of it being a baby pick up.
We’ll be reviewing the Ford Ranger come June, so stay tuned for more of that later on.
There Is A New Jeep In The House
Next car, Jeep, pick up I wanted to see was the new Jeep Gladiator. The 2020 Jeep Gladiator is something truly new from Jeep and from pictures I’ve seen of it, I’ve been on the fence. You can’t just take a Jeep Wrangler, slap a flat bed on it and call it a pick up truck. Even if all the mechanics of it worked, I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about a Wrangler in pick up format. However seeing it in person has got me off the fence and into the game….
I can say this, it works. Seeing it in person, close and in person, the Gladiator looks good. The flat bed will definitely be a welcome addition to that Wrangler feel. If you are the adventure type and that thing you was missing from your Wrangle was some flat bed storage, the Gladiator is something you definitely want to check out!
A Few Other Interesting Cars To Check

As mentioned this year there aren’t too many big cars that caught our attention but there are still some company with new or updated cars to check out. From Ford, we went there to check out the Ranger, but was surprised to see the Explorer which now has an ST edition on deck to see. At Subaru showed off 2020 Outback with a super huge display screen inside. And one surprising company who I didn’t know was going to be there was car company Rivian. A company I read about online, all electric vehicles like Tesla. They shows off their all electric pick up truck and SUV. I definitely have my eyes on them! There definitely were more and don’t forget the concepts. I personally hate concepts since I know I’ll never see them on the street haha, but you let us know your favorites from the show in the comments if you attend!
The New York Auto Show will run in NYC from today April 19th until Sunday April 28th. Tickets are $17/Adults and $7/Child.
