The Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 DG OS HSM will be the flagship zoom in Sigma’s Sports line. The new lens boasts a constant F2.8 aperture throughout the zoom range and rounds out the line of F2.8 workhorse zoom lenses covering focal lengths from 14mm all the way up to 200mm. The lens is built with 10 low dispersion glass elements and an 11 rounded diaphragm blades to keep things sharp from center all the way out to the edges while still being able to deliver a smooth bokeh effect.

Built For Pros

To help maximize control and image quality, Sigma incorporated their Intelligent OS lens firmware with an acceleration sensor and a new AF algorithm to allow you to quick-pan and still get crisp shots. The 70-200’s AF Function button allows for further customization, allowing you to lock focus at user-defined focal lengths to help cut down of AF times.

As expected, the Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 sports a magnesium-alloy construction and is dust- and splash-proof with a water and oil repellant front element, making it ideal for shooting in the most challenging conditions.

Pricing & Availability

The newest F2.8 zoom rounds out the family of “Big Three Zooms” built with professional shooters in mind. This current release is only available to Canon shooters at the moment and can be had for $1499. Whether you’re a photojournalist, sports photographer, or wildlife shooter, the Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 is definitely a great option to round out your gear bag.
