During the first day of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Alcatel has announced their follow-up to their highly impressive and inexpensive smartphone with the IDOL 4 and IDOL 4S. Both handsets will have Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 & 635 processors and running Android’s latest 6.0 Marshmallow OS.

The new IDOL 4 Series has some innovate features included with it for instance its package. The packaging unravels into a pair of 3D goggles for augmented reality viewing as well as 360 degree viewing and game playing. Alcatel will have its own OneTouch VR store that will provide VR content for your consumption.

IDOL4_COLOR RANGE_1Like its predecessor the Idol 4 Series will be audio packed with JBL sound and will still keep its trademark reversible display with dual speakers. No matter which way you hold the Idol 4/4S you will get the right viewing angle and correct audio sound. Last but not least Alcatel has revealed a “Boom Key” that will enhance your overall experience with the Idol 4/4S such as providing increased visual effects for video, more popping audio quality and assisting with your photos from the camera.

IDOL 4 and IDOL 4S will be offered with four different metal frames: Gold, Dark Gray, Rose Gold and Metal Silver. The front glass touch panel and glass back cover give the phones a premium look and feel. The IDOL 4 series’ slimness (6.9 mm), metal frame and in-mold spin-effect texture add to its finely crafted, luxurious design.

Release date is set for April 2016.
