Appleheads, fanboys, techies and everyone got to see Apple unveil its 6th version of its iPhone today in Cupertino with their Keynote announcement. Apple knows how to put on a show and put on a show they did in showing off their new phones.

We all knew that Apple was going to announce the iPhone 6 and initially it wasn’t known whether or not Apple was going to announce two phones but it turns out they did. They announced the redesigned iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The standard iPhone 6 is bigger this time around coming in at 4.7″ and the iPhone Plus which larger comes in at 5.5″. This is a bit of big step for Apple whom I thought would never make a phone larger than its current 5S let alone two new phones at two different and bigger sizes. It’s exciting and both phones look beautiful.

iphone6-plus-box-silver-2014When it comes to design nobody does it better than Apple and it’s evident in their new iPhones. These new phones are slightly thinner than the current version 5S with the iPhone 6 now having a thickness of 6.9mm and the larger iPhone 6 Plus having a thickness of just 7.1mm. Both phones are rectangular in shape with nicely rounded edges, a solid aluminum build and a gorilla glass display (No sapphire crystal as rumored) and they will be available in three colors: Silver, Space Gray and Gold. You’ll also be getting both phones in three sizes 16GB (why this still exists is beyond me), 64GB and 128GB in both the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus models.

There are some feature differences between the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus for instance, the 6 Plus will have OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) which automatically steadies your shots if you have shaky hands and the iPhone 6 will not have this feature. Resolution creates a difference between the two phones mainly because of size difference. The iPhone 6 has a resolution of 1334 x 750 and the 6 Plus has a resolution of 1920 x 1080. Although the iPhone 6 may seem to lack in terms of resolution you still get that beautiful retina display and HD quality and you won’t notice any real difference in the displays at all.

Apple made some significant changes to the inner hardware of their new iPhones and rightfully so. The new iPhones will come with the new A8 processor to run iOS 8 and all of your favorite apps seamlessly. The new iPhones are powerful aside from just being beautiful. The specs of the new iPhones are below if you’re interested in what’s it’s running under the hood.
