HTC One Mini 2 is Official But Don’t Call It the M8 Mini

If you thought the size of the HTC One M8 was too much for you coming in at 5″, HTC has something a bit smaller for you. Coming in at 4.5″ is the HTC One Mini 2. If you are wondering why they didnt call it the HTC One M8 Mini or something and want to make it the successor to last year’s model there are some reasons why.

The HTC One Mini 2 is outfitted with a Snapdragon Qualcomm 400 chip, 1GB RAM, 16GB storage and its display is QHD 720p. One thing you will notice missing on the Mini 2 is the Duo Camera or should I say Depth Camera. Instead they have replaced the Ultrapixel 4MP shooter with a 13MP one instead and the front is still 5MP. I thought it was rather odd to get rid of a camera they push so much and just slap on a regular 13MP camera. Some specs it did pick up from the M8 is close to aluminum body and there is a microSD slot for expandable memory.

Right now it looks like the HTC One Mini 2 is heading overseas and coming in colors Gunmetal Gray, Glacial Silver, and Amber Gold like the HTC One M8. No pricing and word yet if it will come stateside to our shores but I wouldn’t be surprised if it does.
