CyanogenMod known for making ROMs or custom versions of Android operating systems dating all the way back to the HTC Dream aka G1 has been giving us cooked up software that would give you the most out of your android devices without the clutter, bloatware and space taking BS that was never necessary. For a while now though, CyanogenMod or Cyanogen Inc. has been working on making it open full-fledged smartphone and it has been revealed today as the OnePlus One with full on specs and details shown below.
The OnePlus One is a powerhouse when it looking at the hardware that’s its being built upon. It will be running a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chip w/ 2.5GHz Quad-core CPUs, Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB RAM, 3,100mAh battery, and running CyanogenMod 11S which is based on Android’s 4.4 KitKat. If that doesn’t impress you, the screen will be coming in at 5.5″ of IPS 1080p FULL HD goodness coated with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, the camera will be 13MP using Sony Exmor IMX 214 Sensor that shoots 4K video and have 5MP on the front(which I been liking on the HTC One M8). Also stereo speakers are located on the bottom of the device.
The OnePlus One has tri-microphone tech which work together in unison so you have one on the top, bottom and back, the Display uses CABC and DRAM technology for adjusting the use of battery by telling static or dynamic usage on the display, and going back to the camera it has six lenses to combat distortion.
This phone from Cyanogen looks to be pretty crazy as far as build quality(check video below) and overall specs. Best of all its supposed to come in at a cool $299 for 16GB or 64GB will be $349 for colors Silk White or Sandstone Black. One thing I have been looking into though is that it looks like they are going on a invitation basis to obtain purchasing the device. Kind of reminds you of the Google Glass method that has been used since last year. If not you can try to catch one via social media meetings like Facebook or Twitter.
In any event we look forward to getting our hands on a OnePlus One and look to bring you more news as it develops. OnePlus will sell the One in the US, Canada, the UK, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and several European countries.
