Gracing the Playstation Vita stage is a reborn of Mortal Kombat that released around the same time last spring for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Who would of thought 20 years later(1st MK was in 1992), this game franchise would still be kicking. I was a super big fan of the release last year and still play it to this day. The Vita version brings the same fun from before plus adds some extras that can only be done on this system.

Mortal Kombat for PS Vita is a blast and this is quite possibly the best version of all releases thus far. This version includes everything from the Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition that released a couple months. So you get all the DLC costumes, and DLC characters with this one. Also added is a bonus Challenge Tower that really utilizes the hardware of the Vita. You have challenges such as “Test Your Slice” which is a remix of Fruit Ninja, other challenges requiring you to wipe away blood to replenish your character bar, tilting your Vita to get the edge and bonus, and other cool features.

The load times for the Vita version are surprisingly good. Nowhere as painful as if you play Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 for the Vita. If you play the console version before you will notice one big difference is the graphic detail. Apparently the graphics were slimmed down alot. Too much to me suprisingly. This bothered at the beginning but other then that its the same game plus more. If you can look past that you have a solid portable gamer on your hands to add to your collection.

Mortal Kombat for PlayStation Vita is available from various retailers and the PlayStation Store
