As we all know last week RIM had a major worldwide network outage which disabled customers from using their BBMs, internet, emails, and the list goes on. Depending where you were some didn’t have services for one full day, other parts had up to a 3 day wait. It could be seen as a bad taste in some people’s mouth even causing some to flee to other OSes such as Android or Apple. In the wake of all this though RIM is offering their customers some premium apps for free which is set to total $100 for the inconvenience that was brought on.

• SIMS 3 – Electronic Arts
• Bejeweled – Electronic Arts
• N.O.V.A. – Gameloft
• Texas Hold’em Poker 2 – Gameloft
• Bubble Bash 2 – Gameloft
• Photo Editor Ultimate – Ice Cold Apps
• Pro –
• iSpeech Translator Pro –
• Drive Enterprise –
• Nobex Radioâ„¢ Premium – Nobex
• Shazam Encore – Shazam
• Vlingo Plus: Virtual Assistant – Vlingo

I think this is a nice gesture to entice customers to stay. But what if I already have all or most of these apps? I think maybe it been a little better to let them pick the application they wanted but hey free is free, cant complain right. They are set to stay giving the apps away slowly over the upcoming weeks starting October 19. Customers will have till the end of the year to download these apps. Hey RIM Enterprise customers you get one month of free tech support. That’s good right? If you have a Blackberry device does this compel you to stay? Let your comments below if you like.
