New In Theaters Review: The Sorcerer’s Apprentice

So Disney put out their summer block buster movie this past weekend with the release of “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”. The movie is about a sorcerer named Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) who has been searching for centuries for the person who is destined to replace his teacher Merlin, as the main sorcerer of the world. He will know of this chosen one by the reaction of a ring he has been carrying all of these years. When he finally meets a young boy, that the ring responds to, the boy causes an accident that releases Balthazar’s arch enemy Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina) from being trapped in a magical container. Balthazar manages to trap himself and Horvath into another confinement after he casts a spell on the two of them.

New in Theaters Review: Knowing starring Nicholas Cage

So this past weekend brought us a new Nicholas Cage movie. In the movie Nicholas plays John Koestler a M.I.T. teacher whose son’s class is chosen to look at the pictures that children drew 50 years ago of what the future will look like. Every child gets pictures of space ships, robots and such, but his son gets a paper with nothing but numbers written all over it. When his son shows it to him he starts to break down the numbers, and finds out that they all coincide with disasters that have happened in the past 50 years.

New In Theatre Review: Bangkok Dangerous starring Nicolas Cage

This past weekend brought us Bangkok Dangerous, starring Nicolas Cage as a hitman who is a loner and has set a list of rules that he uses to finish his assignments without getting caught or being known to the rest of the world. His name is simply Joe, and he is given an assignment in Bangkok to kill four contracts by a crime boss named Surat. Once he gets there he enlists the help of a street pick pocket named Kong (Shakrit Yamnarm). In his line of work he often does this, and then kills his assistant at the end of the mission so that there is no one left that knows him.
