Its Spring Break time and thousands of teenagers have gathered at Lake Victoria for their annual spring break activities of swimming, drinking, and partying. Some distance away a tremor has cracked open the lakes floor, and has unleashed a prehistoric strain of piranha fish. These fish are hungry and they’re ready to devour anything they run across in their path. When Sheriff Julie Forester (Elisabeth Shue) learns about the razor-sharp teeth man-eaters, it’s a race against time to try and get all of the teenagers out of the water before the piranhas attack.

New in Theaters Review: Halloween 2

New in Theaters Review: Halloween 2

In 2007 Rob Zombie took it upon himself to remake the classic slasher movie Halloween, for a new generation of viewers. Well this past weekend, he continued the story with Halloween 2. In this one as you might guess Michael Myers (Tyler Mane) is still very much alive, and is still on the hunt for his younger sister. If you saw the original movies then this pattern is not new to you. Michael chased his sister through most of the original movies, so that part of the story has not changed. What I liked about Zombie’s first remake of the first movie, was that he showed how this kid just snapped one day and killed everyone in his family except his mother and young baby sister. It finally gave a back story to Michael’s character and why he turned out to be the brutal killer of so many people. This next chapter in the story takes place a year after the events of the first one and Michael is back out on Halloween night killing more innocent victims while searching for his younger sister, Angel.

New in Theaters Review: Friday The 13th

Tuesday, February 17, 2009 1:45 pm

So this past weekend I went to see the new remake of “Friday The 13th”. If you have been living in a cave for the past 20 or more years then you won’t know the story of Jason Vorhees. Jason lives at Camp Crystal Lake, where he actually drowned at as a kid. Since then Jason has seen fit to get revenge for the camps negligence of letting him drown and for the murder of his dear mother, who also had gotten some revenge for the counselors she feels let her son die. If she would have just had some patience she would have found out that her son came back from that awful day at camp and Camp Crystal Lake could have been a thriving business, but then we wouldn’t have all the great past “Friday the 13th” movies. LOL

This week’s review will be on Twilight. Yeah Yeah I know, what am I doing going to see something like Twilight…well I didn’t, my wife Dawn did. So this week she will be the “guest reviewer”. Hey all…This is Dawn Williams reporting live from Twilight central. I have just recently become a fan of the book series and while waiting for books 2-4 to arrive from Amazon.com, I figured I’d go see the movie. First of all, let me start by saying that this series has some hardcore fans and why it shouldn’t, the books are well written. That being said, I had very high hopes for the first of 4 films. I was very pleasantly surprised. There were a few misplaced plot changes and a bit of rearranging in comparison to the book, but overall it was a great offering.

Who would have thought that after 22 James Bond movies, stretching over more than 3 decades that they would still bring the action that they have for all these years. In the new James Bond movie that came out this past weekend, that’s exactly what it has done. In this one James Bond aka 007 (Daniel Craig) faces an evil business man named Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric) who is trying to control one of nature’s natural resources, there by making himself the chief control of it so that people will have to pay him for it. The only thing standing in Bond’s way of trying to stop this madman is his boss M (Judi Dench) who believes that James has a secret motive of revenge in his mind. James believes he was betrayed by his one true love Vesper, and has to fight his urge for revenge in order to uncover the real truth. With the somewhat unwilling help of a strong willed woman named Camille (Olga Kurylenko) who has plans of revenge of her own, they go up against Greene and discover that he has very strong allies in the CIA and in many parts of the world including Austria, Italy, and South America. He is also forging an alliance with an exiled general named Medrano (Joaquin Cosio). Also in the movie is Jeffrey Wright who plays Felix Leiter, who is also an ally of Greene, or does he have his own agenda?
