Babylon A.D.: starring Vin Diesel, and Michelle Yeoh

By ewilliams On September 1st, 2008

Babylon A.D., what should I say about this movie? Should I say its action packed? Should I say that Vin Diesel is back at the top of the action hero list? Should I say that this movie had a great story? Well if I said any of these things, I would be considered a liar. This movie’s “A.D” in the title should stand for “Another Dud” for Vin Diesel. The movie takes place in the future, and much of the world is either run down by past wars or has been left to rot because of radiation from nuclear meltdowns.

New In Theatre Review: Death Race starring Jason Statham, Tyrese Gibson ,and Ian McShane

By ewilliams On August 25th, 2008

This past weekend action star Jason Statham starred in Death Race. In this movie he plays Jensen Ames, a 5 time NASCAR Champion who is framed for the murder of his wife and sent to a maximum security prison where deadly car races are the prison’s way of entertaining the vast masses of internet subscribers. The year is 2020 and after the economic crash of 2012, the jails are overcrowded. This leads to the building of Terminal Island, an inescapable prison that sits a mile off the coast land in the middle of the ocean. It’s run by Warden C. Hennessey (Joan Allen) who has come up with a money making machine called “Death Race”. For the price of subscription, internet viewers can watch car races where the drivers are racing for their release from the prison.

New In Theatre Review: Tropic Thunder starring Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., and Jack Black

By ewilliams On August 18th, 2008

This weekend Ben Stiller took a poke at Hollywood actors and how shallow and self involved they can be. The movie is “Tropic Thunder” and let me just say that Ben has hit a home run with this movie. The movie is about three famous actors and a successful rapper who star in a war movie being filmed in South America. This movie is set to have the biggest budget ever for a war movie, with the cast that it has brought together, the only thing is they are terrible together and have been costing the studio way too much money. So after the studio pulls the plug on the project, the director decides to drop our group in the deep jungle of South America and film the movie with realism. He doesn’t tell the cast this very important piece of information though. Once there, our cast find themselves in deep trouble when they encounter real Asian soliders, which are not too happy about them coming into their territory. Read the rest of this entry »

New In Theatre Review:Pineapple Express starring Seth Rogen and James Franco

By ewilliams On August 13th, 2008

This past weekend I got a taste of some “Pineapple Express”, and I’m just now coming down off of it. LOL No but seriously I was out of town and stayed at a hotel that had they’re internet down, so I wasn’t able to send in my review. So now that I’m back and I just had to do this review. “Pineapple Express” starring Seth Rogen as Dale Denton and James Franco as Saul Silver is the funniest movie to come out this year. Actually it’s the funniest movie to come out since the same producers brought us “Superbad” last summer, another classic comedy. In this movie Dale Denton is a process server who while taking tokes on a joint outside of the person’s house he is about to serve papers on, sees the person kill someone. He panics throws the joint out the window and drives to his dealer’s house. Once there, he and his dealer, Saul get all panicky and paranoid and it ain’t from the weed they’re smoking. They have every reason to be scared, you see the weed they are smoking is a rare brand called Pineapple Express and Saul is the only one who sells it. Read the rest of this entry »
