The Blackberry Bold 2 (9700) Is Upon Us

Ok so this will be nothing new to any Blackberry follower and definitely not new to anyone who has just checked their favorite sites this morning. But we got the email this morning like everyone else, the release of the Blackberry 9700 aka Bold 2 is approaching.

Today we got the email from T-Mobile that they would be releasing the Blackberry Bold 2 “in time for the holidays”. It is going to run $199.99 on a 2 year contract. Not bad at all!

At the same time we right after read the AT&T press release saying that their version of the Blackberry Bold 2 would be releasing in the coming week and would be going for $199.99 as well (actually $299.99 upfront then. $100 mail-in rebate, lame!).

Then there is the news that other carriers like Rogers and others would be offering it. Exciting times indeed! This is definitely a sexy looking phone! The Bold being the prototype and the flagship of the new RIM movement, I’m excited to see if will get some of it’s sexy back. You see after the Bold, all these other slimmer, sexy devices started coming out and if I was the Bold, I would feel a little overweight. Good to see (like myself) it hit the gym and convert that extra fat into lean muscle!

Ok let’s get into some specs:

-3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED Flash
-256 internal memory & MicroSD card slot that can take up to 32GB cards.
-Bigger screen (480×360 up from 480×320)
-Running Blackberry OS 5.0
