Some of you might remember a year ago when we first talked about the Ooma phone system, and some might even remember we gave one away right here on G Style Magazine. The Ooma system is a favorite here at G Style Magazine, and we highly recommend them. They make a great product here, I personally love the system!

Now a year later, we are happy to see that they have upgraded their system and they have the Ooma Telo coming. With the Ooma Telo, they have done away with the need to have the Ooma Scout, as the system is completely integrated. This new system actually comes with a handset this time around, which is something we ask back when we first talked with Ooma. The handset would be the scout, as the new system comes with one handset, but is expandable up to 6 handsets. And with the Ooma instant second line, this would be great for any household! Now while there hasn’t been any pricing set for this new system, after speaking with the CEO & Founder Andrew Frame today (GREAT guy by the way), we might be looking forward to this information come CES in January 2009. And when the Ooma Telo comes closer to the time that it will be selling, we will have a full review on G Style Magazine for it, so stay tuned for this. For more information on Ooma, check out www.ooma.com

Just received from ooma tech support on July 13. Telo is in beta test and getting debugged, should be out in the next few months but that depends on the FAA and regulations. Best target is before Christmas but could be out much before that.

So glad to not pay the insane landline taxes in VA anymore. I wonder how long till they find a way to tax Ooma use somehow.

Btw - "while there isn’t no pricing set" - haha nice.

I just found out about ooma and was about to buy the original system on Amazon untill I wisely started to dig about the product and found out about the new TELO.
I am sadded to learn that ooma pissed that 26 million away, I never heard of ooma. I am afriad the extra 16 mill will be too little too late.
I am set to try the TELO.
Vonage is a joke because I pay the equivalent already with my land line, with is ridiculous.
    Lets go ooma!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I not sure why Ooma isn't a household name now! Their system is great and the idea of not having to pay a monthly bill is great. If Ooma put out commercials like Vonage did, I can't see why they would be the next king of telecommunication in the home!
  • I have had ooma for a couple of months now. The sound quality is excellent and I love not having to pay for my phone service anymore. This new ooma Telo looks promising. ooma is about to become a household word.
