Calfiornia Courts Find Early Termination Fees Illegal
By NICK On July 31st, 2008
Superior courts in California made a ruling on the practice of early termination fees for customers wanting to end their contract early on a carriers network illegal this week. The court ordered Sprint-Nextel to pay back $18 million to reimburse customers and stop collecting another $54 million from other customers who were charged because of the fees. With levying of early termination fees, experts say that with judgments like this in place, carriers will lose the power to keep customer locked into their contracts for multiple years at a time. The FCC is looking into the policy to keep early termination fees or terminating them.
Ran into this nice Blackberry theme from Bplay. Normally I don’t even bother with Bplay since they charge for their themes and there are so many places to find free one online. But this is the first “Coverflow” theme that I’ve see done well. It has a real Ipod Touch feel and of course the icon are MACish. Even the original background was MACish, but I changed that to this hot wallpaper of the new Camaro that is suppose to be coming out in 2010 I believe. This theme will run you $6.99 from Bplay. Is it worth it, sure if you want to be the first on the block with a slick looking Blackberry that doesn’t look like anyone else. That my friend is G Style! This weekend Will Ferrell & John C. Reilly joined together once again to bring us the movie “Step Brothers”. If you’ve seen Talladega Nights which they both starred in together or you saw Reilly’s “Walk the Line” The Dewey Cox story. Then you know what to expect in a movie starring these two actors. Laugh out loud stupidity. In this one, Ferrell stars as Brennan and Reilly stars as Dale. They are brought together when their parents get married, and they become step brothers. Now mind you they are both 40 year olds who still live with they’re single parent. Once they have to give up that life style and now share their life with each other, it’s not holding well with the two of them.
So it’s been a slow week this week at G Style. Yes we had the The Dark Knight movie review (which was hot by the way!!), for the most part there hasn’t been much style oriented devices that caught our attention this week. While the LG Dare and the Chocolate 3 may be some notables, we are still on the fence with them. We will contact LG to perhaps send them over for some one on one time so we can come to a conclusion. Pictured is the rumored IPhone 3G that should be available come holiday time. This is rumored, so you’ll just have to see this holiday season. Click on the link for the week’s recap.
This weekend brought out the much anticipated second installment of the Dark Knight movies. Believe everything you’ve heard or read about this movie. This movie is definitely headed to break some box office records. In this one, the Dark Knight aka Batman aka Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) has made the city of Gotham safe for it’s residents and has even gotten the help of a very determined DA named Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) who puts all the bad guys in prison. The city is content, the Lt. James Gordon (Gary Oldman) just has to shine the Batman signal to keep criminals at bay, and it looks like things are turning around for the better. Till a new criminal shows up in Gotham, and his name is “The Joker” (Heath Ledger).
