Based on the 1959 classic gothic horror novel by Shirley Jackson. This is the third time the material has been adapted, but a first as a mini-series. “The Haunting of Hill House” is created, directed and executive produced by genre filmmaker Mike Flanagan (“Ouija: Origin of Evil”, “Oculus”, “Hush” and last year’s “Gerald’s Game” for Netflix).

The story follows a group of siblings who, as children, grew up in what would become the most famous haunted house in the country. Now, adults, they are forced together again in the wake of tragedy, the family has no choice but to confront the ghosts of their past — some of which still lurk in their minds while others may actually be stalking the shadows of Hill House.

Flanagan, reunites with Carla Gugino (Gerald’s Game) and boasts a stunning cast. Joining them are Michiel Huisman (Game of Thrones), Timothy Hutton (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), Elizabeth Reaser & Lulu Wilson (Ouija: Origin of Evil), Oliver Jackson-Cohen (Emerald City), Henry Thomas (E.T.), Kate Siegel (Hush) and Victoria Pedretti (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), McKenna Grace (Captain Marvel), Paxton Singleton, Violet McGraw and Julian Hilliard.

“The Haunting of Hill House”, The 10-episode series hits Netflix on October 12.
