Geek Facts: This is not Brie Larson’s first soiree into comic features. In 2010 She made her comic feature movie debut as Envy Adams with a pre-Captain America Chris Evans in Edgar Wright’s “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World”.

Okay on to the good stuff, set in early 1990’s Brie Larson plays Carol Danvers, a former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, who ends takes on the mantle when Earth is caught in the middle of an Alien war. It has been reported that the film intends to borrow heavily from the Marvel Comics Kree-Skrull War storyline. Written and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, the film promises not to be a typical origin film. Being set in a previously unseen period in the MCU has some advantages, bringing back some familiar faces, Korath (Djimon Hounsou) and Ronan (Lee Pace) from Guardians of the Galaxy, a young pre-eye-patch Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and audience favorite Coulson (Clark Gregg). Rounding out the cast is Ben Mendelsohn (Ready Player One/ Rogue One), Gemma Chan (Crazy Rich Asians), Rune Temte, Mckenna Grace, with Annette Benning, and Jude Law as Yon-Rogg.

In a recent article in EW, Marvel Studios Chief Kevin Feige shared, “She is more powerful than any character we’ve introduced thus far,” Feige told EW. “So that alone tells you that there’s a reason Nick hit that button at the end [of Infinity War], when he realized that they were up against something far bigger than they had ever been up against before. And having her on your side is hopefully going to change the balance of power in a way that they desperately need.”
