Lomography Gets Trippy With Their All New LomoChrome Purple Film

While we’re always hyped to see and test the latest digital photography beasts that come from Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Sony, Olympus, and Panasonic; it’s no secret that we hold a soft spot in our hearts for analog photography. So, it’s no surprise that we’re excited to hear that Lomography has reworked the formula for their LomoChrome Purple 100-400 color negative film. Forget those played out Snapchat filters, LomoChrome Purple’s latest revision definitely has the potential to really make your photography stand out.

Trippy Hues and Finer Grain

The big news from this new release is the finer grain quality in the 2019 formula of LomoChrome Purple resulting in smoother transitions from your highlights and shadows all while drenching your images with a trippy, surreal purple hue. Looking to give your street photos a BladeRunner-like effect? How about creating portraits that callback to the psychedelia of the 60’s and 70’s? LomoChrome Purple may help you get those unique effects to your next shoot without having to fire up Photoshop.

As you can see from the sample images, Lomography’s LomoChrome Purple is a very special film emulsion that creates an instant atmosphere to whatever you shoot. From street scenes, to portraits, to landscapes, the ability to flip colors – blue to green, green to purple, and yellow to pink – will help you create truly one of a kind looks with a distinct aesthetic.

Pricing & Availability

If you’re excited to give this film emulsion a spin, we have some bad news; as previously suggested above, this film won’t be available until early 2019 and if it’s anything like the last special emulsion released by Lomography, you can expect it to sell out quick. You can preorder packs of 5 and 10 rolls of LomoChrome Purple in 35mm and 120mm or 3-packs of single-use cameras directly from Lomography.
