Action, Adventure | 2017 (USA)

Starring: Jon Bernthal, Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amber Rose Revah, Deborah Ann Woll, Daniel Webber, Jason R. Moore, Paul Schulze, Jaime Ray Newman, and Michael Nathanson

At long last we finally have the first trailer of Marvel’s The Punisher for Netflix. It has been a long journey to this point and after his stealing debut in Daredevil Season 2, many were wondering how soon we would have to wait to see a full series. Marvel and Netflix are still very quiet on that exact date, but with the trailer and poster drop we know it’s soon, with best estimates pointing to November. Supporting cast includes Ebon Moss-Bachrach as David Lieberman/Micro and a familiar face from Daredevil/ Defenders Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Paige, and the big bad in this one seems to point at Ben Barnes (Westworld) as Billy Russo. Recently on EW’s Spoiler Room, Bernthal response to a fan perfectly answers exactly what we are to expect.

“We are stripping down every supernatural element,” Jon Bernthal says. “This show is different. It looks different. Frank is a character rooted in the most basic human emotions… He’s a comic-book character, but he doesn’t fly, he doesn’t have X-ray vision. He’s an unbelievably skilled soldier who’s been very, very angry and very, very hurt.” As EW puts it, “The Punisher’s story will feature zero ninjas, zero members of the Hand, and definitely zero dragons.” Set to Metallica’s “One”, Punisher promises to be every part as brutal as his comic portrayal.
