Assassin’s Creed – Trailer World Premiere
[Rating Pending] Action, Adventure, Fantasy | 21 December 2016 (USA)

Starring: Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson

Geeks Facts:
Director Justin Kurzel’s previous film was last year’s critically acclaimed, vivid and gory take on William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Which unsurprisingly also features leads Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard.

Based on the Ubisoft action-adventure video game of the same name. Unlike other video game to movie franchises this one will change it up a bit. It’s been reported that THIS Assassin’s Creed is more of acreedmi-2a companion piece to the story line in the 2007 video game. A completely different story that happens to run parallel in the same universe as the events in the game while expanding the mythology at the same time.

acreedmi-1Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) is a career criminal who is rescued by Abstergo Industries, the present-day incarnation of the Templar Order. Against his will, he is forced to participate in the project that allows him to relive the memories of his ancestor Aguilar de Nerha, an Assassin during the times of the Spanish Inquisition. The more he dives into the memories of his ancestor the more skills and knowledge he gains to confront the Templars.

Michael Fassbender will be pulling triple duty on the film, playing Callum Lynch, Aguilar de Nehra and Producer on the film.
