Captain America: Civil War, 6th May 2016

Starring: Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Paul Rudd, Tom Holland, Emily VanCamp

Many were wondering if we were to see our first glimpse of the next Marvel film opening alongside the next Star Wars film, well we were wrong. Last night Chris Evans (Steve Rogers / Captain America) and Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark / Iron Man) made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to introduce the world to next chapter in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, “Captain America: Civil War”. Returning to the helm from “Captain America : The Winter Soldier” are directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo. Not only do they have the most difficult job of trying to match the success of Captain’s last leading film, but then next is the preparations of the Next two (that’s right I said two) Avenger films, due in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

Civil War Banner
Here is Marvel’s Official Synopsis:
“Captain America: Civil War” picks up where “Avengers: Age of Ultron” left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

The film is based on some of the concepts introduced by Mark Millar (Kick-Ass, Wanted, The Kingsmen) in Marvel’s 2006 cross-over mini-series Civil War. This film is already looking to be one of the most anticipated in 2016. William Hurt reprises his role from “The Incredible Hulk” as General “Thunderbolt” Ross. Paul Rudd (Scott Lang/Ant-Man) will finally make his first appearance alongside the Avengers. T’Challa/Black Panther played by Chadwick Boseman makes his debut and Tom Holland’s Peter Parker/ Spider-Man makes his very first appearance in the MCU.

Also released are three very different hero posters.
