I’ve been waiting for this moment since Google announced the new Nexus devices back on September 29th. On the 29th Google announced the new Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. These would be the next generation of Google’s Nexus line and a first time for Google to drop not one, but two new devices. I had a Nexus 5 in the past and was very eager to get my hands on the new Nexus 5X. When it came to the Nexus 6P, I just thought it would be too big and from pictures it didn’t look too pretty. Now that I’ve been able to get my hands on the Nexus 6P, I have a different opinion about the 6P now.
First off we have to talk about the style first. As I mentioned in pictures the Nexus 6P is big but there was many questions how that back strip on the phone would make the phone look. Was it a new reverse chin and would it stick out horribly making the phone look ugly? I’m happy to say that this isn’t the case at all. The Nexus 6P is actually a good-looking phone and pictures do it no justice! The Nexus 6P is super slim, feels very light weight, and fills good to hold. I thought the 5.7 inch size would be too much, but after using the Moto X Pure Edition I got used to it. Plus since the 6P is so slim, it make it that much easier to hold in my hands. The Nexus 6P is of course like many Android phones and is another black slab, but it is a good-looking one. So if you was worried about the look of it, you’ll be fine! They color they sent me was the Graphite (Black) color and honestly it would have been the option I went with myself if I ordered it. Also coming from the HTC One M9, I appreciate the metal body done by first time Nexus maker and really first time to America maker Huawei.
When it comes to the features of the Nexus 6P, that 5.7 inch size is great for viewing what you’re doing on the phone. And the QHD display is really good. The Nexus 6P is the better option of the two if your worried about storage. Since the Nexus line lacks support for MicroSD, you’ll have higher storage options with the 6P. Starting at 32GB and going as high as 128GB (very nice!). The model they sent us was 64GB which I think is the best starting option. Now one of the cooler features to come to the Nexus line and the 6P is the use of USB Type-C. The new Type-C charger means the Nexus 6P (as claimed) can power up quickly. It is stated that with 10 minutes of charging you should be able to get up to 7 hours of battery life. I’ll talk more about this in the full review, but having the Type-C port is good and bad. The bad is the fact that you’ll have to keep that cable with you, as you won’t be using any of the other 50+ MicroUSB cables you have. The good and a feature most non-tech people will like is that no matter which way you have the cable facing it will plug it. No more getting it the wrong way issue. This should make connecting it in the dark should be super easy! And the fingerprint sensor which Google is calling Nexus Imprint has made unlocking/authenticating your device much easier. So far I’m really liking the fingerprint sensor, make unlocking the phone easy and quick!
The P in Nexus 6P stands for premium and the spec list does represent that. This is Google new flagship premium device and here are some of those top of the line specs

Overall within the first 48 hours, I’ve decided I want to use the 6P over the 5X. As much as I loved the original Nexus 5, and even though the Nexus 5X is a good one, the 6P has gotten my vote!
