I recently purchased the HTC Vivid on AT&T and even got the all white one for the misses, but why get this phone. There are plenty of cool Android phones on the market, so what made this one so special? While my reasons for buying it may differ from yours, I thought I share in case this might relate to you.

First off the bat, I picked the HTC Vivid because it’s on AT&T. I’ve been with AT&T for 5 year plus now, and I don’t see myself leaving anytime soon. It made sense to seek out a phone my may carrier. There are a bunch of great Android phones out there like the Motorola DROID RAZR, or the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone, but none that hot which would make me want to switch. So some of the top choice on AT&T were the HTC Vivid, Motorola Atrix 2, HTC Inspire 4G (I use to have this phone), Samsung Galaxy S 2 Skyrocket (that is a long a** name lol), and most recently the LG Nitro HD. With some many choice, why the Vivid?

Through a process of elimination and prior experience I came to the HTC Vivid. First off when I purchased the HTC Inspire 4G before, it had everything I like except two things. It lacked a front facing camera (which I wasn’t hard pressed for), and true 4G. Trust me I hated when AT&T joined T-Mobile and calling its HSPA+ network 4G. But those were the two things it lacked. So we could already cross out the Inspire 4G (since I already had it) and the Motorola Atrix 2 since it isn’t true 4G. That leaves the Samsung Galaxy S 2 Skyrocket and the LG Nitro HD. The LG Nitro HD wasn’t out when I purchased my Vivid, though I would have brought it anyway as I haven’t decided to give the LG brand a chance.

The final two being the Samsung Galaxy S 2 Skyrocket and the HTC Vivid. Both have true LTE 4G and front facing camera. But then I had to think of my past experiences. With HTC their brand is strong with me, both in quality of their devices and the cool factor, I love their Sense UI. Then there is Samsung, which I love their Super AMOLED screens, and love watch media on them. However my experiences with the Samsung Captivate left a stain in my impression of Samsung and their devices. While their phones could much better now, once a stain is left, it will take a lot for me to return.

With this being the case for Samsung, I went with the HTC Vivid. A brand I trust, true 4G LTE, and the price was great as well, coming in at $99.99. Love this phone and these are the reason why I brought the HTC Vivid!
