The HTC Vivid was recently announced at one of the first Android smartphones that would be used on AT&T LTE network and I couldn’t be any more excited than I am. I currently use an HTC Inspire 4G, but it would be good to finally drop the faux 4G for some real LTE 4G speed. Love HTC phones, but after using the Motorola DROID Bionic, I have been wanting something a little bit faster on the data speeds.

The HTC Vivid appears to be a decent looking phone from the images I’ve see so far. It will have a 4.5 qHD inch screen which is a little bigger to my 4.3 inch Inspire, so that may take a little getting use to. Also on board is a 1.2GHz processor (dual-core of course), 8MP Cam that can shoot 1080p HD video, and a front facing camera. This has all the makings of a solid upgrade for me. Sure I wish it came with Ice Cream Sandwich, but head I’m sure I could just slap on a ROM for it when the time was right.

The only major issue I have is AT&T has blessed New York City with the LTE network yet. This my friends is sad. I could buy it and just wait for LTE, but who knows when it will be coming to New York City. Currently it is only in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio right now. And what’s more the next cities on the list are Boston, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Athens, Georgia. So the big question is how long before New York can get some AT&T LTE love, what say you AT&T!
