Well it seems Samsung is taking a page from the Apple playbook. Yesterday at their 2011 Spring Showcase, Samsung showed off the Galxy Player 4 & 5 inch screen models. Like Apple it seems after the successful launch of their Galaxy S line of smartphones, they have taken the concept to a PMP (Portable Media Player) form. I not feel robbed just like those people who purchased the iPhone because they wanted a touchscreen iPod, only to have the iPod Touch come out after *DOH!*

The Galaxy Player will run Android 2.2 aka Froyo upon launch and will always be upgradeable to Gingerbread. It will also feature a 3.2MP rear-facing camera with flash, and a front-facing VGA camera for video chat using Qik (let’s hope some Skype is in there!). Also among the feature list is 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity, stereo speakers (with simulated surround sound using headphones), support for Adobe Flash 10.1, and the ability to stream media content to DLNA certified devices like such as TVs or consoles.

Pricing has been announced yet, but we’re hoping it will be iPod Touch range than closer to the Galaxy Tab price point. Man I so have buyer’s remorse for my Captivate now….lol
